NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS FOR THE ASPIRING HERO

Another year is nearly reaching its end. It’s time to review our accomplishments and wrongdoings over the past twelve months and set some quality resolutions for the upcoming year. Our ambitions and expectations of ourselves can often shoot through the roof, so our New Year’s resolutions tend to pile up like laundry on that one chair you have in your bedroom, until you’re drowning in broken promises to yourself like a wildebeest in quicksand.

Making big changes in life can be hard, but you don’t have to go from zero to hero overnight. Ease the pressure off a bit. To help you out, we’ve put together some New Year’s resolutions that we can all manage without giving up by the second week of January and feeling like a complete loser.

New Year’s is just the start of a new game, so it’s time to level up, because there are many paths on the journey to becoming a hero!

  • Eat healthier, exercise more, and get your money in order. This is standard-issue advice you’ll find anywhere, so we’ll just cover the basics. You don’t have to go vegan, but for starters, throw away those three empty pizza boxes sitting at the bottom of your fridge. Do yourself a favor and take the stairs instead of the elevator every once in a while, and use that treadmill you bought last year for something else other than hanging your jacket! Try to pay off that credit card bill, just don’t do it with your other credit cards!

  • Be more honest. When you’re chatting with your friends on messenger, stop sending emojis that you don’t really mean. Every time you send an LOL with a straight face, an angel somewhere loses its wings!

  • Stop procrastinating. We can help you get used to this one. We’ll lock you inside our Zombie room, and you can go ahead and procrastinate all you want, but waste too much time and you will become dinner!

  • Face your fears and insecurities. Living in fear is no life at all, but maybe some shock treatment will help you out. Is being locked in a serial killer’s basement scary enough for you? How about a dark evil parallel dimension? If you can escape with your life from those, asking your crush out on a date or your boss for a raise will be a walk in the park.

  • Escape from unhealthy situations. We all know by now that energy vampires are real, people who drain your will to live faster than a smartphone battery. You need to ditch these type of people like Paris Hilton ditches an old pair of shoes, but first, take a good hard look in the mirror and make sure it’s not you!

  • Improve your concentration and mental skills. People have been trying to find ways to improve their focus and cognitive capacities for thousands of years, but now there are fun ways to do so without it feeling like hard work. Solving puzzles and enigmas inside an escape room will definitely get your brain juices flowing. Tesla was a bright fellow, why not come over and give his mystery a try?

  • Improve your communication skills. Good communication is the essence of all human relationships, and one of the most important tricks is to master the art of timing. Escape rooms are one of the best ways to encourage effective communication, because you must work as a team while racing against the clock.

  • Spend more time with the people that matter. Life goes by fast, and in the end, the time we spent with our loved ones is all that matters. Playing an exciting escape room brings people closer together, so let us help you make another great memory to add to your collection.

  • Enjoy life more. This one is simple. Never stop playing.

Some people say that you can’t beat time, but we tend to disagree. Beat the clock in an escape room and become a hero, and even Father Time will give you some props!
