Sopköket operates as a catering company and restaurant on rescued ingredient materials from grocery stores such as Martin Servera, Saltå Kvarn, Gourmet Food and others.
Since 2015, Sopköket has reduced food waste by 22 tons, donated 9,000 meals and last year took the team from 3 to 12 people, of which 4 were new job opportunities. They take a total grip on the waste of resources. Their location, uniforms and kitchen equipment are largely second hand. All their catering is delivered with electric bicycles and there are zero visible food scraps after the event has been completed.
Older people over 70 and single parents with limited finances have been hit very hard by the current corona crisis. Therefore, Sopköket has launched nutritional auxiliary meals for those in need in society in Stockholm. Since March 20, Sopköket has received 300 donated auxiliary meals from its followers, which have now become free nutritious meals for those who have it the toughest.
