VALENTINE’S DAY IN SWEDEN!

Escape room adventure in Stockholm by Fox in a Box, challenging puzzles and immersive experiences.

An article published in DN in 1957 describes the (new) holiday as follows:

“Nearly a year ago, NK launched ‘Valentine’s Day’ as a substitute for Leap Day and the funny American Valentine’s tradition – the name day in February when men and women, boys and girls, court each other with little gifts in nice packages, decorated with red hearts…

‘Valentine’s Day’ takes place on Thursday February 14th this year. Why not take this opportunity to celebrate your husband or fiance, your wife or your fiance with a ‘heart gift’, packaged playfully or more seriously meant, as you wish…”

Since 1956, the sale of flowers and sweets have increased a whole lot. Today, over 4 million roses are sold each Valentine’s Day here in Sweden!
